Saturday, February 5, 9am - 5pm
Babcock Room, Sunset Center
Carmel, CA

There was a good turnout and good information provided at John Scanlan's workshop on Feb 5. John talked about seeking gallery representation. In the afternoon, he was joined by Brigitte Carnochan and the two of them reviewed a number of portfolios.

Workshop Description

If you have ever thought about approaching a gallery to represent your work but you were uncertain about which gallery to approach or how to go about it, this is the workshop for you. With a background in law and photography, John Scanlan will be able to answer all of your questions while he thoroughly reviews all of the procedures in place at Verve Gallery of Photography for anyone considering representation by them. John is also very familiar with approaches other photography galleries take. He will cover all aspects of this issue including selecting the right gallery, submitting your portfolio, and reviewing consignment agreements.

In the afternoon John will be joined by his friend, Brigitte Carnochan, to review portfolios of those attending the workshop.

In 2002 Wilson Scanlan established Verve Gallery of Photography in Santa Fe and hired his father, John Scanlan, as his first employee. They have been successfully showcasing fine art photography ever since.
