Huntington Witherill

Witherill began his current term on the Board in February, 2009. He has previously served on the Center for Photographic Art Board of Trustees between 1991 and 1993, and was CPA’s first Board President.
Born in Syracuse, New York, in 1949, and having been initially trained as a concert pianist, Huntington Witherill began a career in fine art photography in 1970.
Over the past four decades as a photographer, Witherill has participated in more than ninety individual and group exhibitions in museums and galleries
throughout the world and his photographs are maintained in numerous public art collections. Since 1975, he has also taught photography for a variety of institutions and workshop programs throughout the country and his photographs have been the subject of two hardcover monographs– Orchestrating Icons (2000) and Botanical Dances (2001) both published by LensWork Publishing.
Huntington Witherill lives in Monterey, CA.
