Ryuijie has been a serious art student throughout his life. His artistic endeavors became a focused during his tour in the military. It began on the island of Guam where he learned underwater photography. After his service he returned to California and the Monterey Peninsula. His college education followed and he began a successful career in lithography. In Monterey he saw an exhibition of the work of Jerry Uelsmann's photography. The exhibition motivated Ryuijie to change his artistic career to fine art black and white photography. Ryuijie has steadfastly pursued his own photographic vision for the past twenty-eight years. He has a reputation for his exquisite platinum-palladium prints as well as his traditional black and white work.
