About The Work
Much of my personal work is based on poetry, dreams and mythology. The 4&20 Blackbirds series, of which The Offering is a part, is a collection of images about eight years in the making. It includes images of birds or people with birds and bird-related objects such as wings, beaks, birdcages and the egg. This image, for me, represents birth and the possibilities that come with life. Most of this collection was created using a 4x5 camera and Polaroid Type 55 film and was photographed in Paris and Seattle. In the case of this image (and some of the others), I created my own lenses for the images, thus allowing an explosion of light or blur to take place. This collection, or parts of it, have been exhibited at various galleries.
