About The Work
I have always felt that San Francisco hilly cityscapes and Victorian architecture have been a fantastic backdrop creating the dramatic tensions and compositions for a great series. The painters, Richard Dibenkorn and Wayne Thiebaud and the cinematography of Alfred Hitchcock’s Northern California film locations have captured this essence. I started working on this series in the fall of 2003 with these feelings in mind. ”Beauty Bar” is part of this series.
